John W. Forrest

John W. Forrest, of Merchantville, formerly of Pennsauken, passed away January 18, 2017 at Lutheran Crossings in Moorestown. He was 87. A US Army National Guard veteran, John was a 1947 graduate of Merchantville High School and a 1949 graduate of the College of South Jersey. He had worked for Sun Oil in Philadelphia for over 40 years and was a dedicated member and volunteer of Grace Episcopal Church in Merchantville.

Husband of his late and beloved forever wife, Dorothy (nee Headland); father of the late Steven; son of the late Raymond & Roberta, he is survived by four loving children, Debbie Krueger (Gary), Michael, Jeffrey (Lisa), Brian (Lori); 8 cherished grandchildren, Steven, Jennifer, Ryan, Pam, Jill, Greg, Brian, Amanda; 4 beloved great-grandchildren, Scarlett Dorothy, Fiona, Grayson, Amelia; and his brother, Robert.

Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated 11 am, Monday, January 23, 2017 at Grace Episcopal Church, 7 E. Maple Avenue, Merchantville, NJ 08109. Inurnment in the church columbarium will follow. Relatives and friends may visit with the family from 10 am until time of service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Grace Episcopal Church.
