Santo Lamancusa

Santo Lamancusa, of Bellmawr passed away Sunday, May 21, 2017. He was 88. A US Army veteran of WWII, Santo was the owner and operator of Modern Carpet in Merchantville since 1964. Santo loved family vacations to Jamaica & the Virgin Islands. When not with his beloved family, he could be seen sitting in front of his store greeting everyone who walked by. He was known throughout Merchantville as “Sam the Carpet Man.”

Son of the late James & Caroline Lamancusa, he is survived by his loving wife of over 63 years, Marie; six beloved children, Santo Lamancusa Jr. (Deneen), John Lamancusa, James Lamancusa (Maryann), Jeffrey Lamancusa (Joyce), Barbara Masciulli (Chuck), Steven Lamancusa; fifteen treasured grandchildren, fourteen cherished great-grandchildren; and a caring sister, Grace Corsello. He was predeceased by two sisters, Katie Taber and Marian Irvins.

The Lamancusa family invites all who knew Sam to stop by the store at 31 W. Park Avenue, Merchantville to share remembrances with his family on Tuesday, May 30th from 12 pm until 4 pm. Interment will be private. For condolences please visit www.gaskillbrown.com
