Barbara Hertline Obituary

Barbara J. Hertline (nee Hall), a loving and inspirational woman, passed away peacefully on March 1, 2025, in Little River, SC, just shy of her 76th birthday. Born on March 12, 1949, in Camden, NJ, Barbara lived a life full of love, adventure, and dedication to her family and community.

Barbara devoted much of her professional life to education, working with the Board of Education in Pennsauken, NJ, and serving as an assistant teacher. Her passion for nurturing young minds was evident in her work, and she left a lasting impact on countless students and colleagues.

Beyond her career, Barbara was a vibrant spirit with a zest for life and a love for travel. She delighted in exploring new places and creating unforgettable memories with her family. One of her most cherished adventures was a cruise through the Panama Canal, a highlight that exemplified her adventurous nature. Barbara was also an avid bowler, enjoying Wednesday night game nights at the VFW, where she was a beloved member of the VFW Auxiliary Post 7288. Her love for reading was evident through her active participation in a local book club.

Barbara's enthusiasm for life extended to her love of racing; the Daytona 500 held a special place in her heart. For many years, she traveled with her family to witness the excitement firsthand, reveling in the thrill of the race and the joy of shared experiences.

Her social nature and genuine kindness made her a cherished friend and a true social butterfly. Barbara was an active member of the PTA in New Jersey, always ready to lend a hand and support her community.

Preceded in death by her parents, Barbara leaves behind a legacy of love and strength. She is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, William "Bill" Hertline, Jr.; her children, Debra Stow and her husband William, and William Hertline, III and his wife Barbara; her treasured grandchildren, William Stow, Jr., Madison Stow, and Abigail and Isabel Hertline; as well as her siblings, Frederick and his wife Cheryl Hall, Nancy and her husband Kirk Earney, and Kathy and her husband Nick Mastrosante.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family Friday, July 11, 2025 from 10 am to 11 am at the Gaskill-Brown Funeral Home, 33 West Maple Avenue, Merchantville.
