Charlotte Rita Murphy

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Charlotte Rita Murphy (née Iacono), who passed away on April 7, 2026, surrounded by her family at the age of 82.

Born in 1943 to Frank and Elizabeth Iacono (née Vernacchio), Charlotte lived a life centered on family, love, and devotion to those closest to her. She was a strong, caring, and deeply cherished woman whose presence brought comfort and joy to all who knew her.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 36 years, Frank J. Murphy; her son, Steven Murphy; her sister Barbara Furey (née Iacono), her brother-in-law, John; and her brother and sister-in-law, Sal and Lola Iacono.

She is survived by her loving children: LisAnne (Christopher) Petrella, Frank (Rebecca) Murphy, Char Murphy (Chris Trainor), and her bonus daughter, Georgianna Burns. She was a proud and devoted grandmother to Matthew Petrella, Sara Murphy, Molly (Liam) Elwell, Sean, Shane, Anthony (Kristen) Trainor, Jazmene (Jason) Clark, Alyssa (Chris) McDevitt, and Faith Soto.

Charlotte was also blessed with great-grandchildren who brought her immense joy: Giana, Kayliana, Nolan, Audriana, Logan, Flynn, and Juliana. She is also survived by her four goddaughters, as well as many loving cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Charlotte’s legacy is one of love, resilience, and unwavering dedication to her family. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation for Charlotte on Friday April 17, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 236 E. Main St., Maple Shade, NJ 08052. Her funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or www.stjude.org.
