Dolores E. Hermanns (nee Purcell) of Mt. Laurel passed away Wednesday, January 11, 2023. She was 95. Born in Camden, she was a Merchantville High School Graduate and had worked for many years as a legal secretary, working for many local lawyers and judges where she was awarded Camden County Legal Secretary of the Year and retiring from Robert Gleaner Esq. in Audubon.
Dolores kept very active in her local community as well. She was a member of the Merchantville and Pennsauken PTA, Tall Cedars Ladies Auxiliary, various camping clubs, Woodbine Swim Club, served as secretary on the Merchantville Planning Board for 8 years, and a member and Past Secretary of the Camden County Legal Secretary Association of NJ.
Other than devoting her time to her loving family, Dolores also loved traveling, cruises, cooking, boating, painting, reading, and spending time at Ocean Sands Campground. She was a longtime member of Grace Episcopal Church where she had also taught Sunday School for several years.
Wife of the late Robert F. Hermanns Sr., she is survived by three loving children, Lynn Nanni, Bob Hermanns Jr. (Gloria), Edward Hermanns (Nancy); seven caring grandchildren, Karen Moran, Scott Hermanns (Emily), Stephanie Laurick (Kevin), Rachael Cancelliari (Dave), Ed Hermanns Jr. (Danielle), Lisa Meisenzahl (Mike), Michelle Cahill (Shamus); eleven cherished great-grandchildren, Isla, Riley, Jax, Nicholas, Eddie III, Olivia, Cash, Brody, Declan, Miles, and Hayden.
Relatives and friends are invited to her visitation, from 10 am to 11 am, Monday, January 23rd at Grace Episcopal Church, 7 East Maple Avenue, Merchantville. Requiem Eucharist will follow at 11 am. Interment in the church columbarium will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to the church.
