Donald E. McGhee, a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on November 17, 1947, in Washington D.C., and raised in New Jersey, Donald's life was a testament to the values of love, kindness, and selflessness that he embodied.
Donald's journey through life was shared with his devoted wife, Nancy, with whom he celebrated over 54 years of marriage. He is also survived by his daughter, Beth McGhee, and her partner, Jim McMenamin, along with his son, Scott McGhee, and Regan McGhee. The joy he found in his role as a grandfather was immeasurable, as he cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren, Matt Ricchezza, Evan McGhee, and Ryan McGhee.
For over four decades, Donald dedicated himself to the restaurant industry, where his hard work, charisma, and genuine care for others left a lasting impact on colleagues and customers alike. His commitment to service was not just a career but a calling, as he sought to make every dining experience memorable for those he served.
Upon retiring, Donald found a new passion in caring for his beloved grandchildren. He took great pleasure in being an integral part of their lives, imparting wisdom, laughter, and countless memories that will be treasured forever.
