Eleanor C. Rizzo

Eleanor C. Rizzo, longtime Pennsauken resident passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2022. She was 85. Eleanor was an artistic and devoted family matriarch who loved dancing and sewing. She loved to watch Game of Thrones to the point her family nickname was “Gram of Thrones.” She had retired from Voorhees Hardware after over 15 years of dedicated clerical work.

Great-grandmother of the late Laila Bazaz; she is survived by her loving daughter, Lisa Mele (Chris); three beloved grandchildren, Lara Dougherty (Michael), Leah Bazaz (Gautam), Christian Mele; three cherished great-grandchildren, Lucy & Grant Dougherty, Ashanti Bazaz; a caring niece, Julie Fayer; and dear brother-in-law, Jim Fayer.

Relatives and friends may visit with the family Saturday, January 14th from 2 to 3 pm at the Gaskill-Brown Funeral Home, 33 West Maple Avenue, Merchantville. Funeral service will follow at 3 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Voorhees Animal Orphanage (vaonj.org) or the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital (stjude.org)
