Eleanora Coxe (nee Gambone), 92, of Maple Shade left this earth peacefully on the beautiful fall morning of October 15, 2024.
Eleanor was the beloved wife to the late James Coxe to whom she was married for a wonderful 62 years. She is survived by her daughter, Diane Rudderow (John) of Marlton and their son, James Coxe Jr. (Wendy) of Hillsborough, NH. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren Jamie Wiegand (Noah), Andrea Mizia (Bobby), and her most precious great-grandson Logan Brooks Mizia; all who adored her very much.
Eleanor was born in Camden on August 12, 1932 to the late Salvatore and Rosina Gambone. She is pre-deceased by her seven loving sisters and brothers, Chester, Russell, John, Anthony, Maria, Josephine, and Beatrice.
Eleanor worked at the Ben Franklin Hotel in Philadelphia until she became a mother. She took great pride in being a wife and a mother, often hosting others to enjoy her delicious Italian cooking. She later worked at New St. Mary’s Cemetery in Bellmawr until her retirement.
Eleanor enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, particularly bus trips to Atlantic City to see her shows or gamble at the casinos. At home, there was not a recipe she could not master or a crossword puzzle that she could not solve.
Eleanor lived her life as a faithful and devoted Catholic. She was a cherished member of St. Joan of Arc Parish in Fairview and St. Joan of Arc Parish in Marlton. She spent hours praying the Novena for those she knew and at the request of others, those she did not know. We find comfort knowing she will now be a guiding light in the heavens above. She will be remembered for her cooking, baking, and her hair appointments. She will be missed beyond measure.
Friends and family are invited to her Mass of Christian Burial, 11 am, Saturday, October 19, 2024 at St. Joan of Arc Parish, 100 Willow Bend Road, Marlton. Entombment will follow in New St. Mary’s Cemetery, Bellmawr. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Suncrest, 901 Lincoln Drive West, Suite 100, Marlton, NJ 08053
The family would like to thank the loving members of Artis Memory Care who showed our Mom nothing but love, compassion and kindness.
