Elpidio L. Cosico of Cherry Hill passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020. He was 70. Born in San Pablo City, Philippines, to the late Fabian Aquino Cosico and Belen Laluz Cosico. He had worked for Rutgers University – Camden for many years as a Senior General Maintenance Worker.
He was a devoted husband to Josephine, his wife of 45 years. He was a wonderful, selfless father to Jerome, his son, and Janine and Janelle, his daughters. He also leaves behind 7 siblings: Sancho, Hannah Liwanag, Marlyn, Vivian Merin, Raquel Rementilla, Brenda Janolan, and George and their families. Known as “Joel” by most, Elpidio will be remembered by his family, friends, and neighbors as a kind, gentle, humble, hard-working, and faithful man.
After retirement, Joel enjoyed traveling, working out at the gym, and attending daily Mass and adoration with his wife. He was known as a handyman who could fix almost anything and enjoyed working in his yard. Even though he was a man of few words, he had a delightful sense of humor and a friendly smile.
A Celebration of his Life and a Memorial Mass will be celebrated at a later date. A private graveside service will take place at Calvary Cemetery in Cherry Hill. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Elpidio to: St. Peter Roman Catholic Church, 43 W Maple Ave, Merchantville, NJ 08109, www.saintpetermerchantville.com
