Emily Jane Wilson, nee Shinn, 86, of Pennsauken passed away peacefully at her son’s home in Hamilton on June 25th. Longtime resident of Pennsauken, she was born to Emily Wade and Floyd Shinn in Camden, NJ.
Emily graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in Camden. She was employed by Third National Bank, prior to having her first son in 1966. She then moved on to the Pennsauken Board of Education until her retirement in 2010. Emily was also a member of Temple Lutheran Church. She loved animals, country music, and Elvis, and she was a long-time follower of Mark Reno.
Pre-deceased by her parents, her loving husband, Bob, her son Bobby, and her brother Bucky, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Keith and Katie (DeRose) Wilson, of Hamilton, her daughter-in-law Christine, sister and brother-in-law Virginia (Ginny) and Charles Hillwig of Cinnaminson, sister-in-law Vera Herda of Erial, and her grandsons, Bobby, Danny, Nicholas, Joey, and Aiden Wilson, as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Thursday evening from 6 to 8 pm and again Friday morning from 10 to 11 am at the Gaskill-Brown Funeral Home, 33 West Maple Avenue, Merchantville. Funeral service will be held 11 am, Friday. Interment will follow in Arlington Cemetery, Pennsauken. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to PACT for Animals, www.pactforanimals.org/donate.
