Fay “Fotini” Vlahakis Argy of Pembroke Pines, FL and Mt. Laurel, NJ passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020. She was 96. Fay was born in Lynn, MA the 2nd of 5 children. She was raised in Camden, NJ where she graduated from Woodrow Wilson HS in 1941. She worked for Budd Manufacturing on a production line making bombs during WWII. Fay married Charles George Argeropoulos (Deno) in September 1945 at Evangelismos Greek Orthodox Church in Philadelphia; they were together until his passing in 1996. Fay became a Telephone Operator and later an Engineer for NJ Bell where she retired after decades of service. Fay was a member of St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church in Cherry Hill, NJ since its inception in 1967 and also St. George Greek Orthodox Church in Hollywood, FL since 1988. She held many volunteer positions within the churches.
Daughter of the late Spyro Vlahakis and Eleni Patsourakis-Vlahakis. She is predeceased by her husband Deno Argy, daughter Joy Argy, sisters Diana Vlahakis and Alice Erickson, and brother George Vlahakis. She is survived by her loving daughter, Elaine Kiehner; a dear brother Edward Vlahakis and sister-in-law Marie Vlahakis; and many nieces and nephews.
A recording of her private funeral service at St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church will be published on her memorial page at www.gaskillbrown.com at 2pm January 2, 2021. Public Interment will be held at Locustwood Cemetery, Cherry Hill at 1 pm Saturday, January 2nd. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in her memory to St. Thomas Greek Orthodox Church, 615 Mercer St., Cherry Hill, NJ.
