Frederick H. Martin Jr., longtime Camden resident passed away Wednesday, May 5, 2021. He was 71. Fred dedicated many years working for the City of Camden in a variety of capacities in their public works and utilities departments. He was a member of the Camden Planning Board, Historic Review Committee, and St. Paul’s Episcopal Church. Fred was also a longtime member and Past Master of the USS New Jersey Lodge No. 62 F&AM and member of the Eastern Star where he was Patron numerous times. He was a caring husband, father, and son who loved a good cigar and any chance he could get to start a conversation with someone.
Son of the late Frederick Martin Sr.; he is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Debbie; two children, Frederick H. Martin III “Ricky,” Helen Rebecca “Becky” Martin-Rosso (Chuck); his mother, Helen Martin; two brothers, David Martin (Patty), John Martin (Margaret); and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and friends.
Funeral service will be held 11 am, Wednesday at the Gaskill-Brown Funeral Home, 33 West Maple Avenue, Merchantville. Relatives and friends may visit Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm and again Wednesday morning from 10 am until time of service. A Masonic and Eastern Star Service will be held 8 pm Tuesday evening. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Eastern Star Charity Foundation, which he was President at 111 Finderne Ave., Bridgewater, NJ 08807.
