George Bernard Finley Jr., of Berlin and formerly of Cherry Hill and Frisco, NC passed away May 16, 2024 at the age of 88.
Predeceased by his beloved wife of 68 years, Margaret Ellen Finley, he was the devoted father of Sharon Finley, George Finley III (Carleen), and Meg Swartz (Dan). George was an adoring grandfather of Lauren and Miranda, and boasted of their achievements every chance he got. He is also survived by his sister, Sandra Hartmann (Eric), and sister-in-law, Bette Clark (Ed) and many loving nieces and nephews whose life stories he loved to hear and talk about. He was predeceased by his father, George B. Finley Sr.; his mother, Blanche Atkinson; step-father, Laurence Atkinson, and brother, Gary Meredith.
George was a long-time leader in the Philadelphia area commercial printing industry. Throughout his life he enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, cooking, and especially family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Tuesday, May 21st from 10 am to 11 am at the Gaskill-Brown Funeral Home, 33 West Maple Avenue, Merchantville. Funeral service will follow at 11 am. Interment will be in Colestown Cemetery, Cherry Hill. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to St. Jude Children’s Research hospital. (www.stjude.org).
