Georgeann Swartz Obituary

Georgeann Swartz, longtime Cherry Hill resident, passed away on March 19, 2026, at the age of 63. Born on October 18, 1962, Georgeann was the cherished daughter of Vema Claycomb and the late Clarence J. Claycomb Sr., and the beloved sister of the late Clarence J. Claycomb Jr.

Georgeann's heart found its match in her devoted husband, Michael Swartz, with whom she shared over 41 years of unwavering love and partnership. Together, they built a family foundation that was strong, nurturing, and full of laughter. She was a proud and loving mother to her daughters, Jamie Cahill (married to John) and Michelle Swartz. Her role as a grandmother to Olivia and Natalie Cahill was one of her most treasured, as she imparted wisdom and crafted memories that will be cherished for generations. Georgeann's affection extended to her grandpuppy, Millie, who was a joyful presence in her life. She was a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews, Jeremy (married to Danielle), Phil (Kelly), Sydney (married to Matthew) Carson, Katie, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

With a Master's Degree in Teaching, Georgeann dedicated over 25 years to the students of Catto Family School in Camden, where she was not just a teacher but a mentor, a confidante, and a source of inspiration. Her passion for education and her commitment to her students were evident in every lesson she taught and every life she touched. As an active member of the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA), she advocated tirelessly for the betterment of educational standards and the welfare of her fellow educators.

Georgeann's creative spirit shone brightly through her love of crafting. Her hands were rarely still as she brought beauty into the world and the lives of those around her. Her creativity was matched only by her friendly nature, which drew people to her and made them feel at home. Georgeann's love for travel took her to many places, but she found a special solace at their trailer at the shore in Ocean Sands, where the waves and the warmth of the sun provided a serene backdrop for family gatherings and quiet reflection. Georgeann frequently prepared Saturday night meals for the Cherry Hill gang at the campground.

Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing and visit with her family on Monday, March 23rd, from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the Gaskill-Brown Funeral Home, 33 West Maple Avenue, Merchantville. Interment will be private.
