It is with profound sadness that the family share the passing of Horace W. Palmer Jr. (Butch) on Tuesday, September 10, 2024. He was 86. Butch served in the United Sates Air Force from April 23, 1956, to April 22, 1960, where he started his lifelong career as a plumber. He retired from Vineland Board of Education; his colleagues remember him as someone who brought joy to the workplace every day.
Predeceased by his father Horace Palmer Sr. and his mother Dorthy Fisher, his daughter Narda Hinkle, along with his stepson Robert Reid and stepdaughter Robin Reid; he is survived by his beloved wife Darlene Palmer, his daughter Terry Gariano, his son Horace Palmer III (Butch) (Kimberly) and his daughter DeAnn Short. Along with his stepdaughter Darlene O’Donnell (John) and his stepson Rodney Reid. His love will continue to be felt by his cherished grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Horace also leaves behind host of family and friends who will miss him dearly.
His interests and what he loved the most were playing golf, fishing, and spending time with family. He also enjoyed anything to do with being outdoors, most days you would find him on top of a lawn tractor or excavating someone’s back yard on a backhoe. Butch was always there to lend a helping hand to family and friends no matter what it entailed.
As per his wishes, funeral service and interment will be private.
