Iris Nereida Cintron de Alvarez (70) was born in Arecibo, Puerto Rico, on February 25, 1955. She gained her wings on October 7, 2025, at Cambridge Nursing Home in Moorestown, NJ, the daughter of the late Carmelo Cintron and Maria Maltes Maldonado.
She was the oldest of 21 brothers and sisters. She was a hardworking and proud, God-fearing woman. She worked as a seamstress, a bilingual clerk typist, and a computer operator. She was a very talented, determined, strong-willed, and caring mother. She is free from this earth and free from pain. She is rejoicing in the heavens. She now joins in eternal rest her beloved parents and several of her siblings who preceded her in passing, reunited with them in God’s eternal embrace.
She is lovingly survived by her husband, Antonio Alvarez-Moreno; her cherished daughters, Maria Morales and her wife, Sarai Gomez; Adriana Abizadeh-Barbour and her husband, Jason Barbour; and Alexa Louis-Cintron and her wife, Kimberly Louis-Cintron; her beloved siblings, Awilda Cintron; Luis Cintron; Matilde Cintron; Nelson Cintron; Sandra Cintron; Marianela Cintron; Mirna Cintron; Elizabeth Cintron; Josue Cintron; Edwin Maldonado; Carlos Maldonado; Yvette Maldonado; Jesus Maldonado; and countless nieces and nephews. She loved and was loved by each one of them.
She also leaves behind her treasured grandchildren, Michael Rodriguez, Xavera Singletary, Katalina Abizadeh, Kiro Abizadeh, Justin Barbour, Sophie Barbour, Jasette Reyes, Jose Reyes, Jr., and Ricky Reyes, and her great-grandchildren, Milah Lewis and Amiyah Lewis, who will carry her light and love forward through the generations.
Relatives and friends are invited to her viewing Saturday, October 11th from 10 am to 11 am at the Gaskill-Brown Funeral Home, 33 West Maple Avenue, Merchantville. Funeral Service will follow at 11 am. Interment will be in Harleigh Cemetery, Camden.
