James Robert McMenamin, 68, of Maple Shade entered into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, July 3, 2018 after a long and courageous battle with his failing health. Jim enlisted in the US Army, serving his country in Vietnam. He later worked in the trucking industry for over 25 years at APA Transport and 13 years at Pitt Ohio. Jim enjoyed the simple things in life, the sun, HGTV, morning glories, and especially the sound of grandkids coming through the door.
He will be missed but not forgotten by the many people he has touched through his kindness, compassion, and friendship. Jim mantra: “Never give up, Don’t Quit.”
Son of the late Jack and Cass, Jim leaves his best friend and loving wife of over 44 years, Sheila (nee Sperduto) to keep his memory alive and cherish all the happy years they shared. Left to carry on his legacy are his children, James Robert Jr. (Beth McGhee), Brian Michael (Andrea); and his awesome grandchildren, Jack Andrew and Lily Odette, who he loved so much and was so proud to be Pop; three brothers; two sisters; many nieces, nephews, and their children.
A visitation will be held from 3 to 4 pm, Sunday at the Gaskill-Brown Funeral Home, 33 W. Maple Avenue, Merchantville. A memorial service will follow at 4 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund (www.vvmf.org) For condolences, please visit www.gaskillbrown.com
