Joseph F. Granroth Sr., of Pennsauken, passed away peacefully on March 5, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on June 3, 1940, to the late Arthur and Mary Granroth, Joe lived a life marked by laughter, love, and kindness. Joe's career as a truck driver spanned many years, during which he became a well-known and respected figure in the transportation community. His work ethic and dedication to his job were matched only by his commitment to his family and friends.
Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rita M. Granroth (nee Henrich); his sons, Joseph F. Granroth Jr. and James M. Granroth. He leaves behind a legacy of joy and a family that adored him, including; his sons, Mark E. Granroth and his wife Faith, and Brian M. Granroth; his daughter, Rita M. Granroth; a loving daughter-in-law, Nancy Granroth and his cherished grandchildren, Alyssa (Zachary), Kyla, Tyler, Austin, Autumn, Alexis, Mia, Andrew, and Ava; his dear brother, Arthur Granroth (Gerry); as well as his adored great-grandsons, Grayson and Brooks.
A lifelong fan of the Philadelphia Eagles, Joe's enthusiasm for his team was infectious. He could often be found cheering them on, wearing one of his many graphic T-shirts that often sparked conversations and laughter. Joe's love for playing scratch-off lottery tickets was well-known among his loved ones, and he was always ready to share the excitement of a potential win.
Joe's nicknames, "Goose" and "Papa Smurf," were a testament to his humorous and playful nature. He had a knack for bringing smiles to the faces of those around him, and his sense of humor was one of the many reasons he was so loved.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with his family Tuesday, March 11th from 12 pm to 2 pm at the Gaskill-Brown Funeral Home, 33 West Maple Avenue, Merchantville. Funeral service will follow at 2 pm. Interment will be private.
