Juan A. Nolan

Juan A. Nolan, a man whose zest for life was as vibrant as the colorful shirts he often wore, passed away on January 9, 2025, at the age of 58. Born on September 24, 1966, Juan's journey was one marked by adventure, love, and an unwavering kindness that touched the lives of all who knew him.

Juan's early life was characterized by a sense of duty and service. At the tender age of 17, he joined the U.S. Navy, where he served his international tour with distinction. His experiences abroad shaped him into the worldly and wise man he would become. After his service, he returned to the United States, settling in Miami, where he pursued higher education. His determination and hard work culminated in a degree in business, laying the foundation for his future endeavors.

In his professional life, Juan was a natural born leader. His adventurous spirit led him to Los Angeles, where he embarked on a career as an investigator for the public defender’s office. His work was more than a job; it was a calling, as he tirelessly sought justice and truth. Juan's dedication to his role was evident in the passion and tenacity with which he approached each case.

Juan's love for his family was the cornerstone of his life. Son of the late Francis Vincent Nolan, he was a devoted father to Yasmine Savage-Nolan, Christopher Nolan, and Sean Nolan. His love and guidance were the bedrock upon which their lives were built. Juan also leaves behind his cherished mother, Concepcion Nolan, his sisters, Leonor, Conchita, and Nancy. His brothers, Dominic and Michael. And his biological father, Jose Antonio Fernandez. His family was a source of immense pride and joy, and his absence will be deeply felt by each of them. He was predeceased by his brother Christopher, with whom he now shares a peaceful rest.

Those who knew Juan will fondly remember his love for techno music, a passion he shared with friends and family alike. His presence at ceremonias was a guarantee of laughter and joy, as he celebrated all things fun and silly. Juan was also a connoisseur of good food, and his traditional Spanish recipes were a testament to his heritage and his skill in the kitchen. His larger-than-life personality was a beacon of light in the lives of those around him. A larger than life personality, we will forever love him, miss him, and look for him dancing eternally in the light around us.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with his family Saturday, January 18th from 2 to 3 pm at the Gaskill-Brown Funeral Home, 33 West Maple Avenue, Merchantville. Funeral service and military honors will follow. Interment in Spain will be private.
