June M. Johnson (nee Meunier) passed away Friday, December 4, 2020 at Brittany Pointe Estates in Lansdale, Pa. She was 100. Originally from the Midwest (Michigan and Wisconsin), June lived in several towns in South Jersey, in Burlington and Camden Counties. She and her late husband raised their three children in Barrington, NJ; then moved to the Broadmoor Development in Gloucester Township, NJ. She most recently resided in Lima Estates, in Media, PA; in Westfield, Indiana; and in Brittany Pointe Estates in Lansdale, PA.
A graduate of Camden High School, class of 1938 and Ursinus College, class of 1942, she received her elementary school teaching credentials from Glassboro State College (Rowan University). June spoke several foreign languages: French, Spanish, German, and Greek; she later picked up a bit of Italian and Russian. Mrs. Johnson also played both piano and violin.
June taught 2nd and 3rd grades in Audubon, for 16 years until her retirement at age 65.
Wife of the late Erick Gunnar Johnson, she was the mother of Erick G. and Janet C. Johnson, Barbara L. and John C. Switzer, and the late Robert L. Johnson; grandmother of; Kristen and Gregg Talko, Kim and Charles Dolbin, Erica and David Stowell, Ryan L. Johnson, and Dana and Raleigh Parrott; and great-grandmother to seven.
Graveside service will be held 1 pm, Saturday at Arlington Cemetery, Pennsauken.
