Kelli M. Hixon

Kelli Hixon, a beloved friend, devoted animal lover, and dedicated medical assistant, passed away peacefully at her home in Pennsauken, NJ, on June 5, 2025, surrounded by love. She was 54 years old.  

Born on November 22, 1970, Kelli is the daughter of Donna Crooker and Steven Smith. Kelli was the loving mother of Ian Smith, her beloved son and only child.

For over 22 years, Kelli worked as a medical assistant in South Philadelphia, where she touched countless lives with her kindness, compassion, and commitment to her patients.  

A true free spirit, Kelli had a deep love for music. She was a devoted fan of the Grateful Dead, Tom Petty, and Government Mule. She never missed an opportunity to attend concerts and music festivals. Her passion for the arts extended to musical theatre. Shows like “Wicked” and “Les Misérables” were two of her favorites. 

Kelli found peace and joy in nature, particularly in Estes Park, Colorado—her favorite retreat. She loved horseback riding through the meadows of Rocky Mountain National Park, taking in the breathtaking beauty of the mountains.  

Yet, above all else, Kelli was an animal lover. Over the years, her home was filled with the love and companionship of many pets, who brought her immense happiness and comfort. She often said her favorite place was simply being at home, surrounded by her furry friends.  

Kelli will be remembered for her warm heart, her adventurous spirit, and her unwavering love for those she held dear. Her memory will live on in the music she loved, the trails she rode, and the lives she touched.  

A private celebration of Kelli’s life will be held by her close friends and family.

Rest in peace, Kelli. Your light will never fade.
