Mary Anne P. McFarland, lifelong Pennsauken resident passed away Friday, January 24, 2020. She was 65. Mary Anne was a graduate of Rutgers University where she was a member of the Phi Sigma Sigma Sorority and recipient of the Who’s Who Among College Students Award.
Mary Anne was deeply dedicated to her community through the many organizations she was a part of. She was a member of the Merchantville Junior Women’s Club and the Pennsauken Lions Club, where she also served as Club Secretary for many years. A major part of her life was her service to the Boy Scouts of America. Mary Anne was heavily involved in Merchantville/Pennsauken Troop 118, Pennsauken Pack 116 and Haddon Heights Troop 67 where she served as Committee Chair for all three. Her commitment to the scouts lead to her receiving the Silver Beaver Award, Commissioner Award of Excellence, and District Award of Merit.
Most recently Mary Anne was the recipient of the Camden County Martin Luther King Jr. Freedom Medal in recognition of such selfless contributions to the improvement of her community.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Andy of over 40 years; a loving son, Jameson McFarland and his wife Sarah; a cherished granddaughter, Zoey; a dear sister-in-law, Carol Hoover; and dear cousins, Joe and Robin Butler.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family Saturday, February 8th from 9 to 11 am at Grace Episcopal Church, 7 East Maple Avenue, Merchantville. Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated at 11 am. Interment will be private.
