Mary Jane Mallon, longtime Merchantville resident, passed away on December 4, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on January 23, 1942, in Philadelphia, Mary Jane's life was a testament to the power of warmth and friendliness that she extended to everyone she met. She was the cherished wife of the late James Mallon, and together they shared a life full of love and mutual respect.
Mary Jane was the beloved sister of the late Catherine Hickey and Patricia Evans. Her legacy continues through her four devoted children, Kathleen Polimeni, Theresa Hinchman (married to Richard), James V. Mallon (married to Jessica), and Rosemary Napoli (married to Andy). She was a proud and doting grandmother to seven grandchildren: Donte, Jacob, Matthew, Tyler, Finnegan, Christian, and Julian. Her life was further enriched by the company of numerous nieces, nephews, and a wide circle of friends.
For many years, Mary Jane served with dedication as a Teacher's Assistant at Merchantville School. Her passion for education and the well-being of children shone through her work, and she was an active participant in the PTA and various school activities.
She was an avid reader, always with a book in hand, ready to explore new worlds and ideas. Her joy was multiplied in the company of her family and friends, especially during the cherished moments spent at Woodbine Swim Club. These times were filled with laughter, conversation, and the creation of memories that her family will hold dear forever.
