Meta E. Brownback

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Meta E. Brownback (nee Robertson) on Wednesday April 7, 2021.

Mother to the late Debbie Alm and Meta Weer. Meta is survived by her loving husband, Emile Brownback; her beloved sons, Gordon Plasket Jr. and Dave Brownback (Charlene); Her grandchildren, Donald Alm III (Stephanie), Victoria James (Michael), Lance Weer (Jessica), Jason Alm (Chandler), David Brownback (Karyn), Samantha Weer, and Nicole Brownback. And her great-grandchildren, Donald Alm IV, Ella James, Alex Alm, Rhylan James, Jason Alm Jr., Jacob Brownback, Leah Brownback and Kyle Alm.

Meta’s family knew her as selflessly generous and caring. She always made sure that the people surrounding her were taken care of, in every way possible. She was also the glue to the family. Multiple holidays during the year were held at her home and were filled with good food, laughter, and plenty of love. Family vacations were taken in Oak Island, NC for many years. Some of the fondest memories come from those times.

Meta always spoke her mind, so there was no questioning how she felt about anything. First and foremost, Meta loved her family. She loved her dogs. She also loved the Phillies. She enjoyed going to casinos and on various girls’ trips, especially when it was to AC. Later in life she gathered the family at the diner countless times. She liked going and making friends with the waitresses and staff. She always made people feel cared for and loved. Our family will miss this bold, caring, wonderful woman.

Relatives and friends may visit with the family 10 am to 11 am, Monday, April 12th at the Gaskill-Brown Funeral Home, 33 West Maple Avenue, Merchantville. Funeral service will follow at 11 am.
