Rachel Powell

Rachel Lorraine Powell was born on February 26, 1951 to the late Helen Josephine Williams and Sydney Whittington in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She was affectionately known as Bunny. 

Rachel “Bunny” later moved to Camden, NJ where she grew up and attended school. She was raised by her mother, Helen, who was her absolute best friend. 

Bunny was a very caring, devoted and outspoken Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt, and Friend. She enjoyed spending time with her family, but most importantly her grandchildren. She loved to cook her famous pancakes for them. Bunny enjoyed listening to music and loved to dance. 

She transitioned to the ancestral realm on March 8th, 2021. She was preceded in death by her parents Helen and Sydney; her sister Patricia Ann Williams.

Rachel leaves behind to cherish her fond memories, her two sons, Kevin David Powell and Kenneth Anthony Powell; daughter, Rochelle Summers; grandchildren, Irannye Moorer Turner(Deangelo), Takia Miller, Leon Harris(Turquoise), Clara Moorer, Lashay Brittingham(Stanley), Tiawynee Summers, Keir Martin, Tah’Teana Thomas Powell(Dwayne), Kah’von Thomas Powell(Shayla), Alexei Powell, Dajaun Summers, Raheem Summers, Jevon Davis, Lewis Gale, Samiyah Williams; host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends including her long time friend, Dorothy Summers and daughter-in-law, Evelyn Soto.
