Robert Zamot, longtime Camden resident, passed away on June 10, 2025, at the age of 58, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and service that touched the hearts of many.
Born on August 15, 1966, to the late Juan and Gennie Zamot, Robert is survived by his beloved wife of over 12 years, Maria "Millie" (nee Valentin), who was his partner in both life and love. Together, they shared countless memories and adventures, their bond only strengthening with each passing year. He was a cherished grandfather to his seven grandchildren: Brihan, Jowell, Frances, Manny, GiGi, Matteo, and Noah, each of whom he adored and guided with gentle wisdom.
He leaves behind his siblings, John Zamot and his wife Denise, and Wanda Ford and her husband Bernal III, with whom he shared an unbreakable bond of sibling love and camaraderie. Robert's extended family, including numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins, will remember him for his unwavering support and the joy he brought to family gatherings.
Robert proudly served his country as a US Army veteran, a chapter of his life that instilled in him a deep sense of duty and honor. His commitment to service continued in his civilian life as he became a respected coach for the Camden Little League Softball, where he not only taught the game but also life lessons to young athletes.
His faith was the cornerstone of his existence, and as an active member at Celestial Fire Church in Camden, he dedicated himself to the marriage ministry and youth group leadership, guiding many through their spiritual journeys with compassion and understanding. Robert also served as Chaplain for Crown of Justice.
Robert's altruistic nature shone brightly as he volunteered at several charitable groups in Camden, always extending a helping hand to those in need. His actions were a reflection of his loving, generous, and faith-filled character, inspiring others to follow in his footsteps.
An avid Philadelphia sports fan, Robert's enthusiasm for his teams was contagious, and he enjoyed sharing this passion with his friends and family. His love for travel brought him to many places, but the trips he cherished the most were those he took with his family, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Friday, June 13th from 6pm to 9 pm and again Saturday from 9 am to 10 am at Celestial Fire Church, 1476 S. 8th Street, Camden. Funeral service and military honors will immediately follow at 10 am.
