Russell G Young

Pastor Russell G. Young of Pennsauken, NJ passed away on Monday, September 29, 2025 at the age of 75 years. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 54 years, Mercer Elaine (nee Jackson).  His loving daughter Amanda B. Young of Pennsauken and the family pup, Mowgli; dear brother Stephen A. Young and JoAnn of Pennsauken;  brothers-in-law Keith, and Kelvin Jackson, sister-in-law Jennifer. Along with brother-in-law Michael Apps and sister-in-law Pamela (Jackson) Apps. He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. 
He is pre-deceased by his Parents, Russell C. and Laura L. Young, and also Father and Mother-in-Law, Pastor Aubrey R., and Eleanor Jackson.

Pastor Young’s ministry spanned over 50 years, not only in New Jersey, but also in other countries, and he was the beloved Pastor of Faith Independent Bible Church in Pennsauken for 47 years. He was a high achiever, always striving to put his Lord first in everything he did. Pastor Young’s goal was to make sure that God always received the glory that He deserved, in his life and ministry. Not only has Pastor left behind his loving family, but also he leaves behind a constant supportive and loving congregation, and many pastors, missionaries and evangelists who were there for encouragement, council, and support. Many hearts are very heavy at his absence after many years.

Family and friends are invited to attend the viewing for Pastor Young on Friday, October 10, 2025 at Gaskill-Brown Funeral Home, 33 West Maple Avenue, Merchantville, NJ 08109 from 5:00 PM-8:00 PM. His burial will take place on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Lakeview Memorial Park, Cinnaminson, NJ. There will also be a memorial service in his honor on Saturday, October 18, 2025 beginning at 1:00 PM at the Faith Independent Bible Church, 7651 Rogers Avenue, Pennsauken, NJ 08109. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Faith Independent Bible Church to help support the missions spreading God's word around the world.
