Thomas James Grasso was born January 4, 1942 in Camden, NJ. He was the son of the late Vincent James Grasso and the late Mary Rose Grasso (Vespe). He graduated from Camden High School in 1959 was a National Guardsmen in 1967 and pursued a career in law enforcement with the Camden police department in 1969. He remained on the force until 1983. At the same time he was a franchisee of T-Shirts Plus and opened his own store at the Deptford Mall in 1982. That business was short lived and Thomas became a Camden County Sheriff’s Officer in 1984. In 1993 he joined Rohm & Haas in Philadelphia and remained a security guard until his retirement in 2013.
Thomas was married to his late wife Agnes for 46 years. He was involved with the Sons Of Italy Vita Nuova lodge #2327 in Bellmawr, NJ and the Haddon Heights Lodge #2311. He played bocce for the Grand Lodge team of New Jersey. He was also known for his love of sports cars including owner several different corvettes.
He is survived by his son Christopher of Merchantville, daughter in law Dawn and grandson Vincent along with many family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to his visitation Saturday, Sept. 25th, from 10 am until 11 am at the Gaskill-Brown Funeral Home, 33 West Maple Avenue, Merchantville, Funeral service will follow at 11 am. Interment private.
