The day I found out that u passed, my world was shattered. I never knew you but, the pain was real. Two years later I still feel the void of never meeting you and not knowing if u would ever accept me or want to know me. I hope that u rest knowing that I forgive you and I will live my life to the best I can. May the force be with you always.

This is from Rusty's brother.

You were always loved through the years. Although there were many tough years in there and we had our issues there was always love from me to you.

I'm sorry that you left us before your recovery progressed further and we were able to have a better relationship. I'm glad that you were actually getting the help you needed to get and that you were on your path.

Love always Little Brother.

Pete

This is Christina, I met rusty at a bus stop July 11, 2016 >everyday coming from a nearby methadone clinic. we would chit chat he put his bike under the bus storage wed board the bus together and go on our normal root. we exchanged numbers finally and such a lovely friendship blossomed. i remembered the day he texted me and said "well no more need to bike and or bus anymore"... he was so excited he finally got a car. we hung out almost everyday up until that Tuesday. he told me he met me and all of a sudden felt happy for almost the first time in his life. he stayed sober and clean because when we looked at each other we knew what we both wanted. We made each other laugh, smile, cry, we pissed each other off. it was something special. that Tuesday was just as much of a shock to me as to anyone else. he was doing so well! We had so many great plans. and 5 seconds changed everything for a lot of people he touched. I lost a part of my soul that night. i will forever remember the imprint he left on my heart.
